about

Stan Getz appears to me (Bill Taylor) in a dream and starts playing the first 4 bars saying "I'll teach you how to write jazz". Soprano sax player Paul McCandless and jazz flautist George Husaruk add brilliant solos and Jaye Alison Moscariello and Bill add some vocals. Bill on piano and Yanahay Hooper on bass add the foundation tracks. This piece and many other dream songs that came to me starting in 2010 were in D with a DAD chord progression somewhere in them; Dad died in 2009.

lyrics

You are the love of my life
[Music’s] [You are] the love of my life
You are the love of my life yes you are/
I was asleep in my bed, This song got into my head
Stan Getz said I’ll teach you how to make jazz./
Another song in D, My Dad returning to me
Those cats were playing with reality
